Brrr!

Winter has officially hit Jecheon.  It is cold!  There were snow flurries while we were waiting for the bus downtown tonight.

I had to keep my nose from freezing off.  At least the bus was warm.

Today was a good day.  I talked to Mom while I ate breakfast and then Ian and I cleaned the apartment and went running.  Then I talked to Andrea while I ate lunch and waited for Rob and Danie to get online (we had a Skype date).  Later we went downtown, bummed around and saw 2012, which was pretty terrible.  Still, it felt good to see a movie close to its opening.

Disney inspired contagion masks for sale at a very eclectic store downtown.

A sign outside of a "coffee and rice" shop.  The flash is blocking out "Mean's 'bartender' in Italian."  It made us think of you, Justin.

We decided to go into a pharmacy, since we've never been in one here.  There are bags of traditional herbs next to all the conventional things.  But, you can go one of the many traditional pharmacies for a better selection, I'm sure.  The whole pharmacy smelled like chamomile.

We passed a shop with this "delightful" little clock in the window.  Is that a Micky D's M on his hat?

You may remember that there is a pizza and "toast" place attached to the theater (the place that has "people making toast" three times on the wall where we took silly pictures of each other before watching "Gamer").  Well, we went back there today and ordered "yachae toastuh."  It was basically a toasted egg and veggie sandwich.  I liked it, but I think it needed seasoning.  Being able to read Hangul has already had benefits, like being able to read menus and cartons at the grocery store.  You'd be surprised at how much English we find hidden in Korean characters.

If the snow sticks, I'll take pictures and post them tomorrow.  The hills out our window ought to be gorgeous when snow covered.  Good night!

  1. Brr is right, what is the average temp this time of year. Your ears were red. Your coat is on its way, but I don't think it is going to cut it for you, even with layering. Do you have a warm scarf with you?
    Have a fun Sunday!

  4. Mom- I don't think the racist clock would fit with your decor scheme. :)
